Hello.
The following may come as a shock to some of you, and yet maybe not to others. We, Adair, have recently come to a mutual decision to go on indefinite hiatus. Which is a nice way of saying we are breaking up. Some of the members have made personal decisions in their lives that hinder us from taking the band further, whether it be touring or writing. It is increasingly difficult and frustrating to replace members, especially when they are vital to the pulse of the music. Those of us remaining find it futile and somewhat senseless to continue playing music without its cofounders. On the last couple of tours, spirits have reached an all time low and it is more important for us all to continue as friends than to self destruct at some point on the road. It has gotten to the point where we’re unsure what Adair really is or represents anymore. Musically, we all want to explore different things. We hope that all of you understand our decision, even though it might come as a disapp
ointment. This has always been about heart. For all of you that know us as individuals, you know that this was no easy decision and one that we would never make unless we felt we had to. It breaks our hearts, but it is completely necessary at this point if we wish to continue to create and enjoy music. This is an extremely scary/exciting time of transition and change for all of us. A few of us are starting a new project and you can expect to hear about any future developments through our myspace, etc. For now we must say goodbye and thank you. Thank you for every floor we crashed on. Thank you for all the Vegan food. Thank you for all the cold medicine and Kleenex. Thank you for the endless summer days. Thank you for the excitement. Thank you for your kindness. Thank you for your love. Thank you for your support. Most importantly, thank you for listening.
Hope always,
ADAIR (RIP)
PS: I found this demo (posted on our myspace) from when we were writing our album, it was written about the end of a relationship at the time, but it seemed appropriate...
